Mammootty’s fans are extremely happy over the official announcement that his Puthan Panam is scheduled for release on April 12th 2017. Being a long festive weekend, the film will be out on Wednesday to cash in on the Vishu – Easter holidays. Directed by Ranjith, the film has Mammootty playing the lead role with Renji Panicker, Mammukoya, Siddique, Saikumar, Iniya and Sheelu Abraham in the star cast.

Written jointly by Ranjith and P V Shajikumar, the film has been bankrolled by Ranjith, Abraham Mathew, and Arun Narayanan under the banner Three Colour Entertainment. Shot extensively in Kasargode, Kochi, Rameswaram and Goa, the film will have Mammootty speaking the Kasergode dialect. In fact, he plays a Kasergode businessman named Nithyananand Shenoy in the movie. The dialogues for the film, especially the Kasergode vocabulary, have been penned by PV Shajikumar. Speaking about her role in the film, Niranjana, said that the climax was shot in a secluded spot in Goa where there were quite a lot of boats and only a few people. She plays a class 12 student in the movie and is cast opposite Ganapathy. The posters of Puthan Panam show Mammootty sporting a salt and pepper look added to the thick moustache. The dashing Mammootty is sure to make his audiences happy with his stylish looks in the film after a long time. Puthan Panam, according to sources close to the film unit, will be deal with black money, demonetisation, and financial issues that have been plaguing the country for a long time now.
